My partner and I have decided to do the song “Meet Me Halfway” by the  Black Eyed  Peas. This song  would most accurately fall under the genre of R&B, or  Rhythm  and Blues. R&B includes elements of pop, soul , funk, and hip-hop.   Some features commonly featured in R&B music videos include:   Costumes / Make -up   Women  wear minimal clothing to make  themselves  more attractive to male audiences   Women wear l ots  of accessories, like high heels and jewelry, and  non - cheap  clothing to show their audience they are desirable.   Women have perfect make-up and hair, to give them a goddess effect and support the idea that they are perfect   Clothing for females in slow paced songs are usually plain and the make-up is natural, to give the artist a natural goddess appearance.   Males are usually topless to  appeal to female audience. They also often have tattoos to  seem cool a...

Music Video Group Blog

My group partner is Adriana Lee-Fook. We have known each other since 5th grade. We have worked together on countless projects before. So this project shouldn't be any issue. Probably some projects that took a lot more hard work and effort then this one will. Adriana has experience in film because she has been in theater from a very young age. And I have a lot of experience in editing/ video effects. So we should be able to create a decent music video with no issue. Also Adriana is a very good student that gets on top of her work in every class. So I know I will be able to count on her to do her part of the project. I sometimes can have trouble in keeping up with work. But I know Adriana won't allow me to slack off and jeopardize the project. I had a YouTube channel before and over the course of producing videos I developed a good amount of knowledge for editing. Those videos I made for YouTube were longer videos that allowed for less fast pace editing compared to an average m...

Hi, my name is Adrian Ramser-Cuellar. I am a a student at Fort Lauderdale Highschool. I am in the 11th grade. My birthday is September 7th 2004, so I am 17 years old. I play football for the school team. I've lived in Florida most of my life but I was born in California. I have been in AICE all 3 years. I am looking forward to this class because I find media production interesting. Also I have liked what we are learning so far. First we were assigned to create an image that has a deeper message. We also had to do a reflection assignment for that assignment. We had to define the basic terms used in this course. We have also learn about how sound effects can be artificially created. And how they are added to a film. We also watched multiple videos on the important of camera angles. Today in class we were introduced all the assignments for the first quarter. Also are teachers showed us the music video assignment. We were told to take notes on the process of producing a music video. ...

 1. Our product had a lot of conventions that are used in their commercials. One being sad or sentimental music. Another is having storyline that appeals to the audiences feelings and heart. Also the slogan that the play at the end of each commercial. This commercial mostly represent younger social groups. 2. Our product in commercial is used to get to peoples emotion. The storyline of Extra gum commercials make the gum the reason the characters are brought together. No directly advertising the gum itself but in an indirect form. It would be distributed on TV as a commercial. 3. My production skills through the project developed a lot. For example my first day or recording started of rocky. It took me some time to focus and finish scenes. But then on the second I new what had to be done and we were able to get the last scenes finished efficiently.  4. For software we used the editing app called Video Leap on my phone. For hardware we used the camera to record from my iPhone 11...

Commercial Blog

My group is finally done with the commercial. This project was a very fun experience. I had a lot of fun creating a storyline. Bringing it to life was the  best part for me. The filming was the most stressful experience and really helped give me a perspective into film production. The editing was also stressful bring along its own problems. Also I had to learn that nothing we ever completely go to plan. My team had to change and work around so many different obstacles. These obstacles only motivated the group more to completing the project. In the end me and my team were able to produce a commercial that we are happy with.

Editing Blog: Finally Done

Image
Today was my second and final day of editing. In the previous day my group was able to get all our clips together and in the correct order. Me and my partner had also set all the transitions and shortened clips to fit the time limit of 30 seconds. So all that was left for today was to add the outro that all Extra gum commercials have. Me and my partner wanted to insert the classic ending animation of the slogan revealing across the screen with a pack of extra gum in the middle. But when we were shorting clips to fit the time limit we only left a very small amount of time left to actually work with. So when I inserted the clip into the end, I had to speed the clip up so that it would fit and not go over 30 seconds. In the clip there is a voiceover that say "Give extra, get extra", which is the company's slogan. When I sped up the clip the voice over was very hard to hear and also the animation would go by to quick. In general in would give a really fast and rushed ending ...

Editing Blog: Time Crunch

Image
Today was my first day of editing. All the clips that we record while filming are on my phone so the editing is also being done on my phone. First I discussed with my partner which version of the shots we wanted to use for the final product. We took multiple recordings of each shot while filming so that there would be a variety of choices if we weren't feeling a certain recording. This process didn't take that long because I already knew which recording would fit the best together for the final commercial. Once we got all the scene on the editing app, we noticed that we were way over the time limit. The time limit our teachers told us was 30 seconds and the video was around almost 45 seconds. So I tried my best to look through each clip and see if there was any bits that we could sacrifice to meet the 30 second limit. This process was very hard, it took me and my partner a very long time. The reason being is that to take out a piece of a clip, I had to make sure that the comme...
