Today was our second day of filming for our final task project. Everybody arrived to Adriana's house around 9:30 today. When we all were situated at her house we talked up what need to get done for the day. I talked about the setting for the second half of the film. We needed to clean up the kitchen and the dinning table for the scenes. Also we had to setup the different props around scenes. Once we got everything mostly in place we decided it was time to start filming. I told Faith to change into the costume for her character. Once she changed we started recording the first scenes for the day. The first coupe of scenes went pretty smooth, we only had to retake a few to get the desired results. Then we got to the scene in which we needed to have fake blood as a prop. Our partner forgot to bring the fake blood so we ended up having to making the fake blood. I asked Adriana's mom for any red food coloring she had and she happened to have some red. I got some syrup and water to m

Today was out first filming day for our final task project. Everybody in our group arrived to Adriana's house around 8:30. First we had to set up her room. It was already relatively clean all we had to do was move some stuff that would throw off the theme. Things such as miscellaneous items on her desk. We also had to over her dogs bed. We also had to move around her curtains to make the lighting optimal for the filming. We decided Faith should be the one acting, it was originally supposed to be Adriana, but we decided that Faith would fit the dress better. We started the filming, everything was going smooth. There was only one major problem that kept slowing us down. Since we were filming pretty early in the morning, the movement of the sun kept changing the lighting. So we had to keep adjusting the blinds in order to try and keep the same amount of lighting as before. Honestly it wasn't even that hard, just tedious having to adjust after almost very clip. Out of all the scen

Today all members of our group went out to go get the props we need. My partner Adriana went to thrift store to get a dress. My other group partner Faith is making the fake blood that is crucial for the film. I am going to a store to try and find a suitable tea set for the film. My first idea was to go to Walmart to try and look in their kitchen section. When I arrived at Walmart I asked where I could find tea pot sets and kitchen items. Then I went straight to that section and started to look around. I found a couple tea kettles and a couple set of tea pot. But they didn't really fit the what I had in mind for the film. I ended up not buying anything from Walmart and started thinking about other places that I could go. My mom suggested we should go to Old Time Pottery. Since the majority of what they sell is pottery. So I agreed, then me and my mom went there. When we go there as soon as I walked in there was so many different tea sets. With all the options I just had to find one

Production Blog Music

For the music each member of our group had to pick a song. We had to find a song that fits in with the horror/ thriller genre. Also incorporates dolls, a tea party and childhood elements. After we each found a song we would have to decide which song we wanted to use for the sound track in the movie. I picked the song 'Dollhouse' by Melanie Martinez. This song would fit in perfectly with the idea for our movie. The song, the music video, and the lyrics revolve around dolls. In our movie the main characters friends consist of inanimate dolls that she treats as real people. Also the song gives off a very creeps vibe, this fits in with the horror/ thriller genre that we need for the movie. On the other hand there are a lot of negatives about this song. For one this song has a lot of very inappropriate lyrics, and for the final task we are told to stay away from anything that isn't school appropriate. Another downside is that the song has a lot of dialogue from the artist, as i

Title Designs: Planning Blog

TITLE DESIGNS  The opening credits of my film will appear in a gothic, but creepy, Victorian font. They will appear in random places on the screen. We envision the font to look like it came from an old, dusty novel title Working Title: The title will probably be Tea Time, although it could change later. We would like the title to be in a font similar to this: We would like our titles to fade onto the screen very slowly. We want it to feel like the titles are "creeping up" on you. They will fade off after about 3 seconds. We are thinking that the color of the titles should be red or a yellow, gold-ish color and the movie title should be black. We think it should be relatively dark to contrast with the very pink, girly room we will be filming in. We want the title font size to be smaller than the person's name. So it should look something like:  directed by Adriana Lee-Fook
