Tedious (Editing Blog)

Today was the first day our editing our music video. When we got in class my partner go out the storyboard so we cold follow it to help us get the clips together. First I screen recorded the lyric video of the song "Meet Me Halfway" and then I put in on the editing app. I extracted the audio from the video and trimmed into to our desired part of the song. The first scene was the split screen scene of our to characters arguing over the phone. Making this scene was pretty simple and easy to do in the editing software that I was using. The next couple of scene were the ones that were recorded of me outside. Now the hard part was syncing up my lip syncing with the actually music. You would have to get it just right or it would look off and kill the vibe for the video. This process took a while for just one scene and was very tedious. My partner had some ideas that I wasn't really able to see for myself. So for the rest of the editing day she took over on the editing process. She is a pretty fast learner, she never used the app before to my knowledge but was able to figure it out quickly. She would have the occasional question but other then that she was able to show me her ideas on how we should put the video together. She was able to show me what her idea was. It was to break some of the longer clips in half by inserting another shot/ angle. This is so that the music video can keep a same pace and not have long awkward shots like what we had before. 17 There was two shots that we thought could us this, both of them was just of me talking on the phone lip syncing from different angles. In one of those scene we used a clip recorded of my partner to split it, and for the other clip we used a clip of me that we filmed for this exact purpose. This would conclude our first day of editing, today was more of realizing what we needed to do and how to get it done.
