 First Scene

The music video starts off with a couple arguing over a phone call. The girl has a sad expression while the boy looks more annoyed and bothered by the phone call. The shot will be a split screen to show that they are in different locations. This scene will have a filter placed over the shot to convey that the argument is in the past.  During the argument scene, the shot will cut to a scene of the same boy walking in a plain areaThe boy is reminiscing about that phone call with the girlregretting his past behaviorThe two shots will cut back and forth between each other to show that he is thinking about the past. Additionally, the shot of the boy walking will be in slow motionas featured in many R&B videos, to allow the audience to focus on that specific feature. The scene will end with the argument shot. The boy ends the phone call nonchalantly.

Second Scene

The second scene consists of the boy walking in slow motion. The shot is following the rule of thirds, exposing the boy’s bare background, symbolizing how empty his life feels

without the girl as a result of his behavior. After he is done reminiscing, as shown in the first scene, he decides to call the girl. The girl, in her room, picks up the phone. The shot displays a close-up of her phone ringing and cuts to an eye level shot, showing the girl's reaction.

Third Scene

The boy begins to speak to the girl on the phone and lip synch the lyrics, being displayed in a medium close-up shot. It is also a tracking shot because the camera follows the boy as he walks forward.

Fourth Scene

The fourth scene cuts to a side view of the boy walking and talking. This would be a medium long-shot and the lighting is the same as the previous scene.

Fifth Scene

The shot fades to a close-up of the boy's face. It slowly moves into a vertical pan shot of him still lip syncing the lyrics.

Sixth Scene

The sixth scene fades into a medium close-up shot of the girl sitting on her bed. She is listening to the boy speak on the phone.

Seventh Scene

Once the boy is done with his lyrics, the scene cuts to a close-up shot of the girl's face. She begins to respond to the boy, lip synching her lyrics.

Eighth Scene

The eighth scene cuts to a medium long shot of the girl sitting on her bed, still speaking to the boy on the phone. She starts to stand up and walk across her room, the camera follows her using a tracking shot.

Ninth Scene

The ninth scene cuts to the girl standing by the window. It is a medium long shot. The lyric she is lip syncing at this point is “I’ve been looking all night and day.” She then looks out the windownot with the purpose of physically seeing the boy but to symbolize how she is there, waiting for the boy to put in effort in their relationship and approach her. She then closes the window when she says “And this is where I’ll stay.”

Tenth Scene

The tenth scene fades into a slow motion take of the guy looking stressed on the phone. This is done using a medium close-up shot.

Eleventh Scene

This scene cuts back to the girl singing in her room. It is a close-up shot of her face.

Twelfth Scene

This scene begins with an over-the-shoulder shot of the girl looking at an old photo of the couple together, in the past. The shot slowly fades into a blackout.

*Note: all the scenes that take place in the present have a gloomy filter placed on them to convey depression and regret.
