Props:
We need a pencil, which will be dropped by the first character in the first scene. We will also need basic items that a student will have on their desk in class, such as a notebook, laptop, pencil case, backpacks, chairs, desks, etc. We will also have a pack of Extra gum, most importantly the silver wrapper, which is the product that the commercial is about.
Costumes:
The setting is in a classroom, so the wardrobe will be casual, school attire. It must follow a modest dress code since that is enforced in most schools.
Schedule:
9/22/21: our group researched conventions and codes of Extra gum commercials. We also established the props, costumes, schedule, location list, and our backup plan.
9/24/21-9/28/21: our group will work on and complete the storyboard.
9/30/21-10/4/21: our group will film the scenes of the commercial.
10/6/21-10/8/221: our group will edit and finalize the commercial.
Location list:
For our commercial, we want it to be in a classroom setting. We chose the classroom, as opposed to other school locations, because it has a less of a chance of disruptions. It will not be affected by unpredictable weather and there will not be any outside students from other classes interrupting the process. An outside environment would not fit the mood we envisioned, which is sensitive and delicate. An outside environment, especially in the Florida sunshine, would evoke a feeling of overbearing happiness. That is not the soft tone we want our commercial to radiate.
Backup Plan:
We do not have to worry about harsh weather since we are doing our filming indoors. Also, if there are too many people that are recording in the classroom, making it hard for us to film, we will record in the media center as a backup. And if one of our team members is absent, we will get someone to fill in. In the event that the camera breaks or runs out of battery we will use our phones to record.
