Filming Blog: Classroom Chaos

I thought filming was going to be easy and go smoothly with no issue. Little did I know I would be very wrong. When we started our first scene, I was only helping the camera person get the right angles. We got one of our close friend that was in the higher level class to help us since she had no work to do. Once the first scene was completed, it was time for me to act in the second scene. The first several takes went horrible, because I couldn’t keep a straight face while filming. I would burst out laughing almost every take, but I knew I had to get serious. We ran into a big problem while recording. There was another group that planned to film in the exact spot that we planned on filming in. Both of our groups talked about it and the other great let us do a majority of our recording first. Then we let them do what they needed to do. Honestly both of our groups handle it nicely and made sure each other got some filming in. In one scene I had to be filmier from multiple camera angles which was extremely tedious. I had a hard time keeping a straight face, especially in the longer scenes. Even though I had trouble, we still got the in a good recording session. We still have some scenes to record for the next filming day though. I even started to piece the recordings together on a editing app on my phone to see how it was turning out. I sent it to my partner so she could also see. We both agreed that we need to do a lot of editing. Because the video is already 35 seconds long and we still have missing scenes. But for the time being we did a good job and learned a few things today.
